Honestly, how could Russia have won? The guy from our TV channel that was taking care of the commentary said that Eurovision became a geography contest, and is not a song contest anymore. I have to agree: most countries who are Russia's neighbours or dependent on Russia in some way, voted for Dima Bilan. How unjust, his song wasn't even remotely remarkable! And to me, he comes across as a little stuck-up, "knowing" that he'll win before the contest even started... arrogant...

One reason why I'm ranting about this so much is because I'm used to my favourites winning: Ruslana, H. Paparizou, and the great Lordi ^^ Still, I wouldn't be so upset if it was Greece, or Armenia, or Ukraine that won, even though they weren't my favourites, the songs were okay. But Russia? I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the results...

This year, I cheered for Norway, Finland, Serbia, for Poland [Isis Gee has great singing voice], and to some extent Armenia, Ukraine and Greece... but there was one more song, an awesome, energetic and otherwise exceptional song that stole my heart when I saw it in semi-finals. It ended up in eight place, but in my mind and heart, this song is the true winner.
